The global audience,  as reported by Reuters was a record 269 million viewers for the opening week of the latest edition of the Indian Premier League 2020, that was recently hosted in the UAE . This league played by city-based franchises is usually held in the months of  March and May every year between eight teams representing eight different cities in India. This year however on account of the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament had to be deferred until an appropriate window in October-November and had to be hosted without in-stadium spectators. This is an event that happens in the month of November of every leap year of the 21 st Century. The final verdict gets decided by an intriguing game of numbers, that is popularly known as ”The Race To 270”. In my effort to explain the American elections to my children in simple terms, I have compiled this note that I will blog, in order to demystify this complex exercise and give a basic overview that will summarize the major terminologies and numerical aspects that are involved in this fascinating election process.
