The Magic of Tea

A Humble Cup of Tea

When life feels tangled, loud and strange,
And thoughts refuse to settle down,
Pause for a while, let your worries change,
And let a cup of tea come round.

There’s comfort rising with its steam,
A soft fragrance, and warmth so true;
Tea gives the weary mind a dream,
And makes the blues seem somehow new.

Tea asks for nothing, only your time,
A quiet chair, a breath, a pause;
Yet somehow turns the ordinary sublime,
And gives the restless heart a pause.

Tea brings old friends to linger near,
Draws strangers gently into talk;
A cup can make the silence disappear,
And make two hesitant hearts unlock.

Tea keeps us company when alone,
Through rainy afternoons and lonely nights;
In every sip, is a little home,
A small warm island of delights.

Tea wakes the morning, greets the day,
And gathers thoughts before they flee;
It tells our hurried selves to stay,
And simply be, for one brief tea.

Tea carries memories, rich and deep,
Of kitchens, journeys, homes and rain;
Of promises made and secrets kept,
Of moments we would live again.

So when the world seems far too much,
And life has lost its rhythm and key,
Hold warmth between your hands and such,
Is the quiet wisdom of a cup of tea.
